Dr. Steven Yarinsky and the staff at Saratoga Springs Plastic Surgery, PC are pleased to offer the innovative non-surgical fat reduction treatment known as truSculpt® iD. This non-invasive body sculpting solution is designed to reduce stubborn fat deposits that have not responded well to diet and exercise. truSculpt® iD can be performed almost anywhere on the body, with the most common areas being the abdomen, flanks, arms, legs, and underneath the chin. The upgraded truSculpt® iD treatment can reduce, on average, 24 percent of the fat located in each treatment area, per treatment. One treatment with the truSculpt® iD is as effective as two or three of the old truSculpt® treatments.
The advanced system has offered many of our patients a reduction in the thickness of their unwanted fat and cellulite. Using radiofrequency (RF) technology, truSculpt® iD heats the targeted fat cells, causing them to break down and gradually be absorbed by the body. Individuals can achieve the slimmer, more toned appearance they desire in a relatively comfortable procedure with no downtime to follow.
How does truSculpt® iD work?
truSculpt® iD is a non-surgical method of reducing localized areas of fat. Up to six hands-free applicators are placed on the target areas, at which point RF energy is pulsed into the fat layer without damaging the skin or surrounding tissues. During a 15-minute session, multiple body areas can be treated. Treatment is fully customizable to suit the unique needs and goals of each patient.
Within five minutes, truSculpt® iD hands free pieces reach the precise therapeutic temperature, which causes the targeted and uniform destruction of excess fat cells. Once the targeted fat cells are destroyed, they are gradually absorbed into the body over the next 12 weeks and removed via natural metabolic processes.
Thanks for the beautiful job you did on my legs…I can’t believe the difference. It is remarkable how much it changes your self-image.
What areas can be treated?
truSculpt® iD can be performed on any area with stubborn fat deposits. The most common trouble spots include the neck, under the arms, abdomen, love handles, back, buttocks, and thighs. Multiple areas can be treated in the same session.
Am I a good candidate?
Candidates of truSculpt® iD include men and women of all skin types and colors. The procedure has shown to provide slimming results for anyone with localized areas of fat. Those who are not eligible for the treatment include people with pacemakers, pregnant women, and those with cancer or malignant growths in the target area. In addition, those with certain metallic implants (e.g., copper IUDs) and metal joint replacements in the area are not considered for treatment with truSculpt® iD.
Does the procedure hurt?
During the truSculpt® iD treatment, patients will feel a warming sensation as the RF energy treats the target area. Throughout this time, a truSculpt® iD technician can adjust the device’s temperature to ensure the utmost comfort. With this level of customization, the procedure is often virtually pain-free, eliminating the need for anesthesia, medication, or cooling. There is usually no downtime after treatment and you can resume all of your regular activities.
How do you prepare for a truSculpt® iD treatment?
No special preparation is needed prior to a truSculpt® iD treatment session. However, patients should remove any jewelry or body piercings if they are located in the treatment area. The skin should also be clean and without any lotion or body cream.
How many treatments are needed?
Patients can achieve, on average, a 24 percent fat reduction from one session. To achieve optimal results, most individuals require one or two additional treatments, given every 10 to 12 weeks with a minimum of 8 weeks between treatments. Dr. Yarinsky may recommend additional sessions depending on the patient’s needs. Results should begin to be noticeable within 6 to 12 weeks after the treatments.
Our plastic surgeon often combines truSculpt® iD with Endermologie Lipomassage™ to help smooth cellulite and increase the natural processing of damaged fat cells out of the body.
Can truSculpt® iD be used as a weight loss technique?
truSculpt® iD is not meant for weight loss or treating obesity. The device is designed to reduce mild to moderate fat deposits that are diet- and exercise-resistant. Ideal candidates have a BMI of 30 or lower. Should the patient desire more comprehensive treatment, they may benefit from liposuction. In these cases, truSculpt® iD should only be used to complement the results of liposuction, not replace the surgery.
What can I expect after the procedure?
truSculpt® iD is designed to be a safe procedure with minimal side effects. It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, sweating, firmness, and tenderness in the treated area. These are only temporary and typically last for only a couple of hours; however, it may take up to several weeks for firmness, swelling, and tenderness to completely resolve.
Patients can return to work and resume their normal activities immediately after the procedure. Results from truSculpt® iD can often be seen as soon as four weeks after treatment, though it may take up to 12 weeks to reach a plateau of a result.
What does a truSculpt® iD treatment cost?
The cost of truSculpt® iD will vary based on the number of areas treated, surface area of each, and total number of sessions needed. When you come in for your consultation, you will receive a personalized estimate based on your specific cosmetic goals.
