What are the benefits of a medical facial peel?
Skin clarity. Even skin tone. Uniform color. Better texture. Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. In many cases, the results eliminate the need for cosmetic foundation. As preventive medicine, this treatment may help reduce pre-cancerous lesions.
Who can benefit from a medical facial peel?
Whether your skin is environmentally, sun damaged, discolored, acne prone or hypersensitive, a special program will be designed for your specific skin condition.
Who is not a candidate for a medical facial peel?
Someone who is sunburned, has active cold sores, facial warts, moderate or severe rosacea or sensitive skin (except for Lactic Acid Peels). Also patient who are allergic to aspirin, have been taking Accutane in the last year, are currently receiving chemotherapy or face radiation. Lastly, pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding should avoid peels.
Lactic Acid & Glycolic Peel
(Superficial peels, also known as “lunchtime peels”)
Our most gentle chemical peels. Helps to gently exfoliate the skin and reveal fresh skin. Most patients do not experience peeling. Lactic Acid Peels are good for sensitive or rosacea skin. Our glycolic peels are medical grade. These peels can be repeated every 2 weeks. A series of peels provides optimal results. We recommend a maintenance program every month or two.
Illuminize Peel (very superficial peel for mild imperfections)
Brightens and tightens skin for a more youthful appearance. Helps reduce visible signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage and pigmentary irregularities. Enhances skin glow and radiance. Improves skin color, clarity and texture. Ideal for first-time patients of patients looking for quick skin enhancement. Expect little to no peeling. This peel can be repeated every 2 weeks. A series of peels provides optimal results. We recommend a maintenance program every month or two.
Vitalize Peel (superficial peel for mild to moderate imperfections)
Works to reduce the appearance of mild to moderate skin imperfections, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and melisma. Expect mild to moderate peeling lasting 2-5 days. This peel can be repeated every 3-4 weeks. A series of peels provides optimal results. We recommend a maintenance program every month of two.
Rejuvenize Peel (superficial peel for moderate to severe skin conditions)
Strongest of the SkinMedica® peels to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe skin imperfections, fine lines and wrinkles. Sun damage, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and melasma. Expect moderate peeling lasting 2-5 days. This peel can be repeated every 4-6 weeks. A series of peels provides optimal results. We recommend a maintenance program every month or two.
