About RADIESSE®
Face and hand volume decrease with aging. RADIESSE® is an injectable dermal filler that is approved by the FDA to correct moderate to severe facial deflation, folds and wrinkles as well as augment the back of the hands to correct volume lost with aging. RADIESSE® is a beneficial anti-aging treatment for those wishing to rejuvenate their appearance by restoring volume without surgery. Dr. Yarinsky often recommends this injectable to smooth nasolabial folds, add volume to hollow-looking cheeks, minimize the appearance of scar depressions, and rejuvenate the backs of aging hands.
RADIESSE® is composed of calcium in a special formula that actively stimulates collagen growth. While this filler temporarily adds fullness to the target areas, patients can achieve long-lasting results as their face and hands naturally achieve a more youthful contour with the generation of new collagen, which is part of the support and framework of skin.
The RADIESSE® Procedure
Dr. Yarinsky will personally administers RADIESSE® filler using a fine needle. RADIESSE® contains a local anesthetic for comfort during the procedure. Each treatment takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete, though this may vary based on the extent of the individual’s needs. Many patients can reach their aesthetic goals with only one treatment, but the optimal number of treatment sessions will be determined during the consultation.
Recovery and Results
Some downtime is typically required following the RADIESSE® procedure due to swelling and bruising, allowing patients to resume their normal activities within several days to a week. It is normal to experience bruising, mild redness or swelling, but this should fade within a few days to several weeks and can be camouflaged with cover-up cosmetics.
Results from RADIESSE® are generally long lasting, with most people maintaining their youthful results for up to 18 months. To maintain long-term positive results, patients often return for touch-up treatments every few years.
